Dr. Sawant surveyed 16 functional Institutional Repositories (IRs) developed in India. In her twofold study she investigated various issues concerning the development and management of institutional repositories. Further she explored the knowledge, practice and opinions about IR among the IR users. This included scientists, faculty members, students, etc. who may or may not be using the IR facility.

Sarika Sawant, PhD in LIS, currently Assistant Professor in SNDT Women's University. She has done B.Sc (Microbiology), M.Sc (Biochemistry) and M.L.I.Sc. (Lib & Inf Sci). She has more than 15 International & Indian Peer Reviewed Journal Publications.
