Beschreibung
Jesus of Nazareth lies at the center of Christian beliefs, though he is not unknown to Judaism, and Islamic tradition is also acquainted with his teachings. Nevertheless, it is the very person of Jesus that most divides the three religions. Is Jesus of Nazareth in fact the fulfilment of the messianic history of Israel? Is Maria more than just a Galiliean mother? How holy is the "holy family"? And what do we say about the uniqueness of God when we revere Jesus as the risen Son of God? Was he perhaps just a major prophet? This is where the Jews and Muslims see things differently than the Christians. The reject both the Christological and Trinitarian dogma of Christianity, so that the common basis is narrow indeed. Yet there is a common basis, which this volume describes in the various ramifications.

Jesus of Nazareth is the key figure of Christian faith. Christians believe Jesus to be the Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, the redeemer who has worked salvation for all humankind. For Jews and Moslems, however, he is just a prophet. Christians, Jews and Moslems share rather little about Jesus. Nevertheless this book shows who Jesus is for Christians, Jews and Moslems.>
