Amel El-Rayis grew up in Alexandria, Egypt and received her MA degree in 2014 from the faculty of Arts, English department (literature), Alexandria University.She has taught English language and literature at schools for fourteen years. She is currently writing her dissertation on the fiction of the American author, Philip Roth.
