Ocimun sanctum Linn belonging to the family Lamiaceae. It is commonly known as Tulsi, holy basil. The fresh leaf and stem contains ursolic acid, carvacol, linalool, apigenin, eugenol, rosameric acid. The fresh leaves of Ocimun sanctum is used for treatment of diabetes mellitus. It is used to treatment of fever, malaria and dangue. Raw tulsi leaves are very helpful in providing relief from cold and cough. It is very effective in reducing cholesterol level and it thus helps maintain a healthy heart function. Syzygium cumini belongs to the family Myrtaceae. It is commonly known as jamun. Jamun fruit is used as a treatment in Ayurvedic medicine in India for a variety of ailments. The rich, dark color of the berry is the result of anthocyanins in the skin. This phyto-nutrient provides ample antioxidants as well. Jamun also contains vitamins A and C, folic acid, potassium, zinc and iron, among others. In Ayurvedic medicine, the berries and other parts of the Jamun tree are used to treat anemia, digestive issues, and respiratory infections. It is also used to regulate ones heartbeat. It is also used as anti-diabetic.
