Beschreibung

The rapid development of China's transportation system brings huge challenges to fire safety issues. Fire Protection Engineering Applications for Large Transportation Systems in Chinaanalyzes key fire issues for large transportation systems in rail, airport, tunnels, etc. and offers solutions and best practices for similar projects throughout the world. The first monograph to look at transportation hub fire issues in China looks at architecture features, occupancy and area classification, fire hazard and design difficulties based on local code design. The book then provides case studies to identity the common problems and introduces possible solutions in order to develop a best practice for future design and improvement. The authors worked directly on the case studies provided, which include the Hongqiao airport transportation hub, Beijing and Pudoing airport PBD study, subways in different cities and the high speed train system Cross China. They use their research and investigation to form the theoretical basis for the fire design of urban large transportation hubs and the establishment of corresponding fire codes. The cutting-edge technologies discussed include: Smoke control strategy in complicated multiple function space, assistant evacuation performance based study new technology on fire separation new fire products for smoke detection and intelligent guiding system for evacuation BIM and internet of things used to improve fire management

Autorenportrait

Fang Li is the Research Scientist of Worcester Polytechnic institute. Fang is a Fellow Member of SFPE and started the SFPE China Chapter in 2006 as its President and has continued to lead and grow it thru the current time. The China Chapter has received 5 Awards from SFPE Headquarters during this period. She was the first to advocate Performance Based Design (PBD) in China and was awarded the Chinese Silver by Ministry of Security Science and Technology Division for the "Technical Guideline of Performance Based Design. Fang Li is the member of CTBUH, WOBO, NFPA, SFPE, CFPA, SELEMENDOR, and the committee of experts of nationwide. She was selected to give multiple presentations on fire safety at NFPA Annual Meetings, Council of Tall Building & Urban Habitat World Congresses, Fire Asia Conference and other local conferences in China. Fang Li holds the master degree of Fire protection Engineering and has worked for lots of high profile projects in Asia including the 520 meters Shanghai Center project, Shanghai Disney theme park, Beijing Universal theme park as well as Shanghai 2010 Expo China pavilion projects, she has worked for RJA (now part of the Jensen Hughes) for about 20 years since she graduated from WPI as the Senior Vice president. Prior joining the RJA, she had worked for NFPA as the engineering intern. She is the first person introducing the performance based design concept and method to China and established the fire protection consulting service in China, she is also the key player to convince the Ma-cao Fire department to use the IBC for the Las Vegas based Venetian, MGH and Wynn developer for their large scale projects in Macao and introducing the third party service. She also developed the recognized third-party service for the international hotel brand throughout China. Huahui Li, has dedicated his 10-year career to the field of fire protection engineering and served as associate engineer for JENSEN HUGHES and Shanghai Abundance Fire Safety Technology, from 2013-2019. During this period, he works in Code Consulting Business to provide professional fire technology including code consulting, fire risk assessment, site inspection for different projects. The projects include retail, industrial, residence and school. Now he works for as fire technical director for IKEA china office.
